The curve of the points sits perfectly against my neck, so the pad doesn't dig in the way the flat ones did. It's noticeably more comfortable for a full session, and the five titanium points still give a solid, precise hit.
The shorter points really do make a difference—my neck didn’t get that red, itchy patch like with the standard pads. They also hug the curve of my neck perfectly, so I can wear them for hours without adjusting.
