Boundary flags are one of the most important parts in training your dog when using an E-Fence. Ensure that you have the correct amount of flags to cover your install. Flags should be placed approx. 8 – 10ft apart around the boundary. You can use the collar to find the edge of the boundary zone and place the flag in the ground in the area where the collar starts to beep.
The flags are sturdy enough to survive my pup’s initial confusion without bending, and the bright orange is easy to spot even in tall grass. Setting them at the recommended spacing took about an hour, and they’ve held up through two rainstorms so far.
Placed these around the perimeter yesterday and they're sturdy enough to withstand a few curious sniffs without bending. My pup started recognizing the boundary within two days, and the bright orange color is easy to spot from across the lawn. Exactly what we needed to finish the training setup.
We've got a quarter-acre yard with a stubborn hound, and 50 flags was exactly enough to mark the whole perimeter without running short. They went in easy along the fence line, and the bright orange stands out clearly against the grass so the pup actually noticed them during training.
