Our German shepherd has the thickest double coat and the old pad barely touched him; these longer points finally get through without him flinching. The multi-point layout spreads the pressure nicely so he actually stays still for the whole session now.
The longer brass points sit much more evenly on my dog's thick coat, so the pressure feels gentler even though it's still effective. I've used it every day for two weeks now and the extra surface spread makes a real difference for her long fur.
