The silicone is genuinely softer than the metal collar points, so my pup stopped flinching during training sessions. It took a couple of wears to stay put, but the fit feels secure now and skin contact is much more pleasant for him.

My dog seemed to accept these much faster than the plain metal points, and the silicone definitely feels softer against his neck. I do wish the 1-inch size had a bit more grip during our longer training sessions—it slid slightly a couple of times, but for comfort alone it's a solid upgrade.
